A Gentle Response

Whenever He was insulted or falsely accused, Jesus was a model of restraint. Rather than respond with anger, He always had a gentle word for those who attacked Him....

  How utterly men failed to understand Jesus! Whatever He did was wrong in their eyes, for  the light that was in them was darkness. They even dared to identify the Spirit that was in Him with Beelzebub, the prince of devils. Yet, when they accused Him of gluttony and drunkenness, what was His response? " Father, I thank thee!" (Matthew 11: 19, 25). He was unmoved , because in Spirit He abode in the peace of God.

  Or  recall that last night before His passion. Everthing seemed to be going wronge : a friend going out into the night to betray Him, another drawing a sword in anger, people going into hiding, or running away naked in their eagerness to escape. In the midst of it all, Jesus said to those who had come to take him, "I am He", so peacefully and so quietly that instead of Him being nervious it was they who trembled and fell backwards.

Father in heaven , I too want to know your peace  Lord that gentleness ,that of my Lord and Savior Christ Jesus . God this is only achieved thru Jesus and in Him; for all things are possible in Him and I know Father God that thy works that you have begun in me you will see thru till the end , because your words and works do not return to you void ,to that which you have sent them ! God`s Stretching

 Patience is more than endurance. A saint`s life is in the hands of God like a bow and arrow in the hands of an archer. God is aiming at something the saint cannot see, and he stretches and strains, and every now and again the saint says-" I cannot stand anymore". God does not heed, He goes on stretching till His purpose is in sight, then He lets fly. Trust yourself in God`s hands. For what have you need of patience just now? Maintain your relationship to Jesus Christ by the patience of faith. "Though He slay me , yet will I wait for Him".

 Faith is not a pathetic sentiment, but robust, vigorous confidence built on the fact  that God is holy love. You cannot see  Him just now, you cannot understand what  He is doing, but you know Him. Shipwreck occurs where there is not that mental poise which comes from being established on the eternal truth that God is holy love. Faith is heroic effort of your life, you fling yourself in reckless confidence on God.

  God has ventured all in Jesus Christ to save us, now He wants us to venture our all in abandoned confidence in Him. There are spots where that faith has not worked in us as yet, places untouched by the life of God. There where none of these spots in Jesus Christ`s life, and there are to be none in ours. " This is life eternal, that they might know Thee". The real meaning of eternal life is a life that can face anything it has to face without wavering . If we take this view , life becomes one great romance, a glorious opportunity for seeing marvelous things all the time. God is disciplining us to get us into this central place of power.

  Father in heaven i know that i lack this discipline of having  patience in most every thing that i do, if only to turn to you in those moments and practice that patience in faith , so that i might grow stronger in my walk with you . please forgive my impatience in thee. Father i know in my heart that the good works that you have began in me , You alone will see through to its completion, and that in this i will become more like your precious son Jesus . God is Always There

 Your faith has met unusual trials, and... you ask for thoughts which may strengthen you. Your experience of life and God`s goodness is a far better teacher than any suggestions of a fellow being. The thought on which I delight to dwell, as I advance in life, is that God is within me- always present to my soul, to teach, to rebuke, to aid, to bless-- that He truly desires my salvation from all inward evils, that He is ever ready to give His Spirit, that there is no part of my lot which may not carry me forward to perfection, and that outward are of little or no moment, provided this great work of God goes on within. The body and the world vanish more and more, and the soul , the immortal principle, made to bear God`s image, to partake of his truth, goodness, purity, and happiness, comes out of my consciousness more and more distinctly; and in feeling God`s intimate presence with this, to enlighten, quicken, and save , I find strength, and hope , and peace.  --William Ellery Channing

Correction Brings Peace

" Behold, happy is the man whom God corrects;

Shout For Joy

Shout for joy to the Lord , all the earth. Worship the Lord with gladness; come before him with joyfull songs. know that the Lord is God. It is he who made us, and we are his; we are his people, the sheep of his pasture. Enter his gates with thanksgiving and his courts with praise; give thanks to him and praise his name. For the Lord is good and his love endures forever; his faithfulness continues through all generations.
